RadCam radial engine.
|
|
|
When asked why he had decided to design a new
aircraft engine Mark Bierle replied "I have always had a keen
interest in efficiency, and I have never felt engines were not
efficient, the RadCam engine design is efficient."
According to Mark Bierle progress on his RadCam two
stroke radial engine is making "good progress". So far two
prototypes have been built, and have 40 hours time on each of them.

The latest version has aluminum connecting rods, a different
cam profile, fuel injection, which has reduced an already low fuel
consumption by half. The ignition is a distributor less CDI system.
Total weight of the engine has been reduced seven pounds, bringing the
weight down from 60 lbs for 60 HP to 53 lbs. While
Mark could not give a specific time for the engine to enter production he
did say he was "determined to complete it, and be able to sell it at a
reasonable price." |
