Power
is being supplied by a 65 HP Metro Geo engine using a 2.6 to 1 Raven
Re-Drive. Rod decided when he was designing the plane to power it
with a reliable, affordable, fuel efficient four stroke, which
narrowed his choices to the Metro Geo.
To allow for the extra weight he has staggered the
top wing 20 inches to bring the C of G in line.
The welded 4130 chromoly steel fuselage is the
same length as the MiFyter 1 but is 40 inches wide to allow for the
dual seating arrangement, and three feet has been added to the wings
for better performance.
For ease of transport the fuselage can be split in
just in behind the pilot compartment. This allows the plane to be
transport on a flat bed trailer.
The kit should take between 850 and 1000 hours to
build, with no special tools required. The plane features a welded
4130 steel fuselage and tail section, covered in standard fabric
covering
The wings are built using the same construction as
that found in the venerable Kitfox and Avid Flyer.
While
manuals etc. are not completed yet for the two place, it follows the
same basic building principles as the single. Kits are entering
production and Rod expects the first aircraft will be available for
fall delivery.
