Since last year Mark has just over 40 hours on the original engine in
the R & D stages, and has had it installed on one of his Gull 2000 doing
high speed taxiing and ground hops.
At Sun N Fun 2003 he had unveiled his "production proto-type" which has
undergone extensive changes, from his original design to allow
him to meet his design goals. According to Mark the new engine may look
similar but it has been totally redesigned, with the installation of a
different cam, larger pistons and cylinders, and reed valve style of
carburation, for better low end performance.
With the new cylinders etc. he expects to be able to produce 60 hp at
2700 rpm, down from 3600 of the older engine configuration. Mark hopes to
have the Rad Cam installed and running on one of his planes within the
next month, with production engines available in about eight months.
