Web video clip interview on the Sabre trike light sport
aircraft.
|
|
| Sabre Aircraft the oldest and largest U.S.
trike manufacturer had two of their brand new Z626 Sabre
Wildcat Trikes at Sun N Fun.
The Z 626 Wildcat features the Z626 MZ
engine 65 hp air cooled two stroke engine which comes standard
with electric start, gearbox clutch, a limited two year
warranty. |
|
| Other features of the Wildcat are a folding mast
that leaves the engine in an upright position, an instrument pod,
equipped with tach and dual egt gauges, full suspension, rear
steering and throttle controls, wheel pants, a front fender, saddle
bags, and a flip up seat that allows access to a massive storage
compartment. Currently two wings are
available with the Sabre 16ss being standard. The Wildcat is
available in red, blue, yellow and sabre white.
According the Sabre Aircraft owner Richard Helms
the he has about 250 hours on the MZ engine and has found it to be
quiet, smooth and reliable. The planes at the show were equipped
with the R&D exhaust which lowers the torque rpm to 5800 rpm.
The MZ 626 is also lighter than the comparable
582, is air cooled so that rads do not have to be mounted, and the
reed valve induction system makes for good low end torque and easy
starting.
